“Women in leadership:
Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”
International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.
International Women's Day (IWD) takes place on 8 March every year and primarily celebrates the movement for women's rights. The earliest known celebration of women was on 28 February 1909 in New York City and was called "National Women's Day". Two years later, the first IWD was celebrated in some European countries.
Equality is our goal, diversity is our strength.
